Volunteer aid to the front, refugees and feelings

Cherkasy musical group SHUFFLE presented the studio version of the debut song “Fly” and a video clip for it. With their creativity, the musicians wanted to show that even though Ukrainians go abroad because of the war, volunteers continue to help the front regardless of their geographical location, a member of the band, musician Roman Chupryna, told Suspilno.

According to Roman, the filming of the clip took place at the headquarters of one of the volunteer organizations in the city of Cherkasy.

“In the footage, you can see real volunteers who, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, have been making kikimora, candles, camouflage nets and much more, supporting the Ukrainian military at the front,” the musician said.

The room in which the clip was filmed is the work area of the volunteer center, where people are constantly working. The band members also wanted to draw attention to the psycho-emotional state of Ukrainians: the song also talks about human destinies and feelings.

“With our video work, we wanted to say: despite the fact that more than seven million Ukrainians went abroad because of the war, volunteers continue to help the front regardless of their geographical location,” explained Roman Chupryna.

According to him, during the war, it is necessary to support local volunteer initiatives and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine for victory.

Cherkasy volunteers collect waste paper in order to monetize it for the needs of the Armed Forces

In Cherkasy, volunteers collect waste paper in order to monetize it and direct the funds to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to volunteer Pavlo Pasiechko, so far it has been possible to collect about 50 kilograms.

Volunteer Pavlo Pasiecheko said that the idea of collecting waste paper arose spontaneously:

“It was a spontaneous idea when I saw an announcement about the collection of waste paper in one of the literary groups in Telegram. There, a Kyiv bookstore collected paper for printing books, and they managed to collect waste paper for a fairly decent amount – up to 100 thousand hryvnias. So I had an idea, why don’t we also collect waste paper and monetize it, so that the stolen funds can be directed to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the displaced people.”

According to him, after the launch of the campaign, people started bringing boxes, notebooks and books:

“We managed to collect about 50 kilograms so far. People are interested, they promise to bring more waste paper, so I am sure that we will collect more than 100 kilograms. Of course, I do not expect to collect such an amount as a bookstore, but there will not be extra funds, considering the situation in Ukraine “.

As Pavlo explained, people bring books mostly with Soviet narratives and old school textbooks.

According to volunteer Olena Smirnova, the stolen funds will be directed to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or displaced persons:

“We are collecting for a car for the first tank brigade, so we will most likely send the funds there. However, with the onset of cold weather, other needs for the military arise, such as warm gloves or socks, thermal underwear, dry showers, shovels, chainsaws, etc. It often happens that , that today nothing is needed, and tomorrow there is an urgent request. The promotion is open-ended, as long as there is enough space in our headquarters, we will collect until then.

The very idea has been hanging in the air for a long time, because there are many books that people no longer need. They say that it is not only a crime to destroy books, but also not to read them. However, if some Soviet propaganda is written in them, which has brainwashed more than one generation, then it is better to use them for another purpose.”
